Using a parametric adaptive control we synchronized or resynchronized
perturbed oscillators in an array of globally coupled chaotic oscillat
ors possibly in the presence of large noise. The method, based on the
Kalman filter, was applied to a Henon map lattice. This method can be
viewed as an adaptive mechanism. In biological systems, adaptive mecha
nisms may confer to complex self-regulated systems an increased resist
ance to signal degradations due to large environmental perturbations.
