Abstract
This report discusses the principles and performance of an advanced fl uidized-bed incinerator installed with an independently controlled sec ondary swirl combustion chamber. The system we have developed employs a secondary combustion swirl chamber to incinerate unburned combustibl es from the initial burning. The combustibles are carried into the sec ondary chamber by bed material. Discussion includes promotion of the c ombustion of char as a typical difficult-to-burn matter, and the succe ssful control of carbon monoxide and dioxin emissions. Also we were st udied the behavior of dioxins and their precursors as well as their ho mologue distribution along the gas now. Good prospects of achieving an equivalent dioxin toxicity concentration of 0.5 TEQ ng/m(3) N or less at the induced draft fan (IDF) outlet were realized through optimizin g combustion conditions and maintaining a low flue gas temperature in the bag filter.
