Abstract
In this paper we consider the growth and structure at room temperature of the Pt/Co<(11(2)over bar0)> interface as compared to previous stud ies on Pt/Co(0001) and Pt/Co<(10(1)over bar0)>. We evidence a layer by layer growth mode lacking of long range order. We shall also discuss the inelastic mean free path values compared to the ones obtained in t he previous studies. We also describe the coverage dependent LEED patt erns and their evolution while annealing interfaces grown at room temp erature.
