This article reports on a project in a British social work agency. The
central aim of the project was to train and encourage social workers
to apply single-case evaluation designs. Following some training, 21 s
ocial workers applied the designs in 83 cases, demonstrating considera
ble commitment At the time of writing, changes are being made in the a
gency's policies, procedures, and practices to facilitate the use of s
ingle-case evaluation designs in the daily work of the agency's staff.
Both quantitative and qualitative measures were used, and a large num
ber of cases involved nonbehavioral interventions.
