Non-linear simulations of a surge model with and without control are i
nvestigated using a Runge-Kutta scheme. This shows how some non-linear
ities in the flow model can affect the normal operation of a lineal co
ntroller and the problem of actuator/sensor locations. Also, the ampli
tudes and frequency response required of the actuator to retain stabil
ity can sometimes be found to exceed the practical limitations.
