Thermoanalysis (TG-DSC) of the pure compound Ba2Cu3O5+delta (023) has
been carried out at oxygen pressures of 0.21 and 1 atm in the temperat
ure range 25-970-degrees-C. It was shown that 5.5 < delta (P(O2), T) <
5.8 and the compound (023) decomposed at 758-degrees-C (0.21 atm) and
at 806-degrees-C (1 atm O2). At higher temperatures BaCuO2 and base s
olid solutions with CuO and Cu2O (> 823-degrees-C at 0.21 atm 02; > 89
0-degrees-C at 1 atm O2) appeared. The liquid phase transition took pl
ace at temperatures higher than 860-degrees-C (0.21 atm) and 910-degre
es-C (1 atm).
