Abstract
Evaluates the principal tools available for the retrieval of informati on from the Internet, e.g. Hytelnet, Archie, Gopher, WAIS, and the Wor ld Wide Web (WWW). Principally concentrates on an evaluation of the us er interface and search software for each of the aforementioned tools. Concludes with a brief perspective of Internet information retrieval and the implications for the future.
