Abstract
Morphometric features, including shrinkage, were determined on a small sample of Oreochromis alcalicus grahami. Comparison with more extensi ve data for O. niloticus, using identical methodology, indicates that O. alcalicus grahami has a greater lamellar surface area and is even m ore adapted for the transfer of oxygen from the water to the blood.
