Computerized business games can be used in developing students' apprec
iation of the complexities associated with the solution of multi-varia
ble problems. Such exercises can assist in the development of more eff
ective personal transferable skills such as team-work, problem solving
techniques, and oral and written communication. Attention focuses pri
marily on the CRAC business game but reference is also made to some of
the other business games which are available. These are complemented
with a detailed review of the support lectures and role playing exerci
ses which are used in conjunction with the business game. The paper il
lustrates the way the use of a computerized business game can signific
antly enhance the development of personal transferable skills and busi
ness awareness.
