Abstract
A simple model for the eta(i)-mode taking account of the dissipative t rapped electron effect, which is described by means of the well-known formula of the nonadiabatic electron response, in a sheared slab geome try is presented. It predicts the existence of a hybrid dissipative tr apped electron ion temperature gradient (ITG) mode. This conclusion is in agreement with the observation in the latest simulated tokamak exp eriment on the Columbia Linear Machine.
