Abstract
The podands 5a,b and 6a possessing ethylene spacers show higher extrac tion and transport selectivities than the structurally less preorganis ed podands 5c and 6b containing propylene spacers, towards Ag+ over al kali, alkaline-earth, Tl- and Pb2+ cations.
