Abstract
Thirty-one colleges and 1 state system (21 campuses) that addressed pr ivatizing counseling services were investigated. A small number of col leges were found to have adopted different models of outsourcing, and others that had considered outsourcing but not pursued it were identif ied. Advantages, disadvantages, factors affecting decision making, and level of success are discussed.
