Abstract
Physicochemical properties of aerosols containing polonium-[210] are r eviewed. High radiotoxicity and other specific features of polonium ae rosols that are associated with the possibility of spontaneous aerosol formation leading to ''hot'' particles carrying unipolar electrical c harge and with the presence of gaseous polonium in aerosol system are noted. The above properties of polonium aerosols make the use of compl ex highperformance means necessary in order to remove polonium from th e air.
