Cb. Castellani et al., CRYSTAL-STRUCTURE OF SCANDIUM(III) TRIFLATE ENNEAHYDRATED, European journal of solid state and inorganic chemistry, 32(11), 1995, pp. 1089-1099
The crystal structure of scandium(III) trifluoromethanesulfonate ennea
hydrated has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffractions. Cry
stal data space group P6(3) m, a = 12.979(1) Angstrom, c = 7.755(2) An
gstrom. The structure has been refined to R = 0.079 (R(w) = 0.074) wit
h 449 independent reflections and 61 variables. The structur consists
of enneacoordinated complexes [Sc(H2O)(9)](3+), linked through hydroge
n bonds by trifluoromethanesulfonate anions. Each anion bridges three
complexes forming a couple of hydrogen bonds with each complex. The [S
c(H2O)(9)](3+) species is tricapped trigonal prismatic.
