Based on a cartographic and microstructural approach, a new interpreta
tion of the Lagrasse fold is proposed. The structures developed in thr
ee steps, with the shortening direction changing between the second an
d third steps. There was: (i) early thrusting (Cagaliere thrust); (ii)
folding (Lagrasse fold) and thrusting in the anticlinal hinge (blind
Col Rouge thrust); (iii) thrusting in the synclinal hinge (Bade thrust
) and generation of the Cagaliere duplex (anticlinal stack). Schistoge
nesis began early but was a continuous process. These structures are r
elated to a main thrust at the front of the Corbieres nappe.
