Abstract
Historical diameters and sunspot group numbers observed by French astr onomers from 1660 to 1719 exhibit 11-y-oscillations. The diameter osci llations and their amplitude are anti-correlated with the sunspot grou p number (the Schwabe cycle). This peculiar feature is consistent with modern diameter and sunspot acitivity data.
