Abstract
High-strength castable aluminum alloys have a lower plasticity and fra cture toughness than deformable alloys. This is associated for the mos t part with the morphology and the nature of the distribution of phase s of eutectic origin, which are always present in their structure. The factors affecting the fracture of high-strength castable aluminum all oys are considered in the present work.
