Abstract
The case of pericardial effusion presented in this article was linked to the development of a rare tumour, an ectopic thyroid adenocarcinoma . This clinical case illustrates the usefulness of cardiac ultrasonogr aphy in the diagnosis of cases pericardial effusion and the determinat ion of their causes. It also allows the possibility of performing, wit h a minimum of risk, puncture of the effusion liquid.
