Abstract
A cross-sectional study of 1412 women aged 30 to 59 showed that exerci sers were younger and had higher incomes. After the researchers contro lled for age, they found that exercisers had lower weight, body mass i ndex, and triglycerides and higher HDL levels across all age groups. L DL, systolic blood pressure, and diastolic blood pressure were lower f or two of the three age groups and the same for one age group. Exercis ers also rated their health, sense of well-being, and daily energy lev els higher than nonexercisers, and reported fewer days of missed work.
