Abstract
C-13 Chemical shifts and J(CH) coupling constants are reported for xan thene and for some dimedone adducts containing a xanthene ring. A revi sed correlation pattern for the carbocyclic ring (3)J(CH) meta-couplin gs in fused oxygen heterocycles is proposed in which the magnitude of the interactions alternate around the ring.
