Theoretical energy levels and transition probabilities are presented f
or 47 low-lying levels of sulfur-like ions for all Z greater than or e
qual to 18, The multiconfiguration Dirac-Fock technique is used to cal
culate energy levels and wave functions. The Breit interaction and Lam
b shift contributions are calculated perturbatively as corrections to
the Dirac-Fock energy, The M1 and E2 transitions among the five levels
of the ground-state configuration (3s(2) 3p(4)) and among four low-ly
ing levels of the odd-parity configurations as well as the El transiti
ons between excited and the ground levels are presented. (C) 1996 Acad
