Abstract
Two new C-60-glycine ester derivatives C-60 (EtOOCCHNHCHCOOEt) (A) and C-60 (PhCH(2)OOCCHNHCHCOOCH(2)Ph) (B) were synthesized and purified, Their room temperature photoluminescence was measured for the first ti me from their CHCl3, solutions, It was first observed for fullerenes t hat their fluorescence could be quenched by concentration, The fluores cence lifetime was determined to be 1.5 +/- 0.3 ns for A and 1.6 +/- 0 .3 ns for B, respectively, using the frequency-domain method.
