A STUDY OF UV-VIS SPECTRA OF SUBSTITUTED CYCLOPENTADIENYL CHROMIUM, MOLYBDENUM AND TUNGSTEN CARBONYLS

The UV-Vis spectra of the substituted cyclopentadienyl chromium, molyb denum and tungsten carbonyls have been measured in five solvents, The concentration effects of the CT(CO-M) bands, n-Pi()? bands have been studied and the phenomena mentioned above were interpreted by the Fran ck-Condon principles, The CT bands undergo a gradual red shift as the concentration of the solution increases and the nonlinear relation bet ween the lambda(max), of the CT band and C was simulated by a computer .
