Abstract
The transesterification and polycondensition of hydroxy terminated pol yethylene oxide and ethylene glycol with dimethyl terephthalate and so dium dimethyl isophthalate sulfonate lead to the formation of ethylene oxide-(ethylene terephthalate-CO-sodium ethylene isophthalate sulfona te) segmented copolymer (EOTM-SO3Na). This segmented copolymer is a ne w single cationic conductor, The chain and aggregate structure of EOTM -SO3Na segmented copolymers were characterized by H-1 NMR , WAXD and D SC methods, The ion mobility measured by polar inversion method was ap proach to 1, The room temperature conductivity of EOTM-SO,Na cationic conductor can get 2, 3X10(-6) S . cm(-1). The temperature dependence o f the cationic conductivity for EOTM-SO3Na system can be described by VTF equation.
