Syntectonic veins have been sampled in thrust fault zones, in the fron
tal part of the Sicilian accretionary prism. In these veins, different
generations of warm fluids have been trapped in inclusions. The clay
mineralogy of the surrounding rocks reveals that the thermal equilibri
um was not reached between these clays and the fluids. These results s
uggest that warm fluids (originating from deeper zones) have flowed al
ong the decollement.
