LEAF ANATOMY OF HYDROCLEIS NYMPHOIDES (HU MB AND BOMP EX WILLD) BUCHENAU (LIMNOCHARITACEAE)

Hydrocleis nymphoides (Humb. & Bomp. ex Willd) Buchenau - LIMNOCHARITA CEAE, object of this work, was collected in Corumba-MS - Brazil. The i nternal structure reveals caracteristic of typical aquatic plant. The leaf is epiestomatic, mainly tetracitic stomats. The aerenchyma is wel l developed, with transversal diaphragm, with a simple layer of bracif orm cells. The vascular bundle is not well developed. High quantity of starch grains are common into parenchyma cells arround the lacunae. D ucts occur in different places, of the parenchyma surrounded by parenc hyma cells.
