Abstract
For large scale application of fuel cells, low platinum loading electr ode structures are necessary. An electrode based on a highly porous ca rbonized polyacrylonitrile foam material with very low platinum loadin g (similar to 13 mu g cm(-2)) was prepared. The performance of this el ectrode for oxygen reduction was evaluated and compared with bulk plat inum and glassy carbon electrodes.
