Solubility in the zirconium oxychloride-hafnium oxychloride-water syst
em has been studied at 25 and 50 degrees C by an isothermal saturation
method with x-ray fluorescence determination of Zr and Hf. The method
proposed for studying solubility in multicomponent water-salt systems
is based on the section method and involves determination of the cont
ents of nonvolatile components in the saturated liquid phases of heter
ogeneous mixtures with known composition. The method is illustrated th
e zirconium oxychloride-hafnium oxychloride-water system at 25 degrees
