Abstract
The air-stable compound [CpTi(H2O)](2)(C10H8,O)(2+)(SO3CF3-)(2) . 1/2T HF (5 . 1/2THF) is the first example of an ionic titanium-fulvalene co mplex. It can be prepared from dinuclear 'titanocene', tifluoromethane sulphonic acid and small amounts of water. The structure has been conf irmed by X-ray crystallography. Space group and lattice constants are: <P(1)over bar>; a=12.930(3), b=15.214(3),c=15.710(8) Angstrom alpha=8 5.87(2), beta=83.97(2), gamma=72.66(2)degrees; Z=4.
