Interpersonal relations among inmates of boarding schools for gifted a
dolescents are analysed. External, institutional psychological closedn
ess results in internal psychological closedness. Educative-profession
al activity becomes very important for the students. Both these factor
s lead to the formation of strict intragroup status differentiation an
d to the development of <<castes>> that are defined in opposition to e
ach other. A teacher in such an institution often interacts with adole
scents according to already existing system of interrelations and so i
ndirectly promotes informal structure of such associations, contradict
ing educative purposes of boarding school.
