Abstract
The angular dependences of the transverse magnetization and torque in an anisotropic type-II superconductor in the mixed state are studied. Two simple formulas for obtaining the anisotropy ratio from the transv erse magnetization measurements are derived by using the usual anisotr opic Ginzburg-Landau theory. Possible generalization of the theory to the case of quasi-two-dimensional layered superconductors is also cons idered.
