Pr. Bhattacharyya et al., CYNAROPICRIN FROM TRICHOLEPIS-GLABERRIMA - A POTENTIAL INSECT FEEDINGDETERRENT COMPOUND, Industrial crops and products, 4(4), 1995, pp. 291-294
Cynaropicrin, isolated from the herb Tricholepis glaberrima DC proved
to be a potent feeding deterrent on testing against 4th instar larvae
of Bihar hairy caterpillar, Diacrisia obliqua Walker (Lepidoptera: Arc
tiidae) and the Erisilk worm Philosamia ricini Hutton (Lepidoptera: Sa
turniidae). The compound retained appreciable feeding (40%) up to two
days from treatment.
