Abstract
An investigation of the hydrodynamic thrust bearing performance is car ried out by using the modified Trefftz method. Effects of the static t ilt of the runner are taken into account. A new approach which is base d on a coordinate transformation principle, is presented to accelerate the computational procedure and can be used in thrust bearing perform ance calculations. Numerical results of static and dynamic performance are presented and discussed.
