Abstract
In this study, a formulation for forward slip in the process of the co ntinuous rolling of II-beams is obtained through the use of the equili brium equations. To simplify the analysis and yet give reasonable resu lts, the web and flange are modeled separately as plane problems. Cons ideration is given to as many as possible of the parameters affecting forward and backward slip, Results from the analysis, in general, show very good agreement with experimental data.
