Vapor-liquid equilibrium at 101.3 kPa has been determined for the bina
ry systems of acetone + 3-pentanone and isopropyl ether + 3-pentanone.
The two systems exhibit positive deviations from ideal behavior. The
activity coefficients were correlated by the Wilson equation. The resu
lts are thermodynamically consistent according to the method of Van Ne
ss. Neither system shows an azeotrope.
