Mer. Mchale et al., SOLUBILITY OF ANTHRACENE IN BINARY ALCOHOL PLUS 2-METHOXYETHANOL SOLVENT MIXTURES, Journal of chemical and engineering data, 41(1), 1996, pp. 105-106
Experimental solubilities are reported for anthracene dissolved in. se
ven binary mixtures containing 2-methoxyethanol with l-propanol, a-pro
panol, l-butanol, a-butanol, l-octanol, 2-methyl-1-propanol, and 3-met
hyl-1-butanol at 25 degrees C. Results of these measurements are used
to test two mathematical representations based upon the combined Nearl
y Ideal Binary Solvent (NIBS)/Redlich-Kister equation and modified Wil
son model. For the seven systems studied, both equations were found to
provide an accurate mathematical representation of the experimental d
ata, with an overall average absolute deviation between measured and c
alculated values being on the order of 0.5%.
