Me. Gonzalezbenito et al., MICROPROPAGATION OF COMMERCIAL AND WILD GENOTYPES OF SNAPDRAGON (ANTIRRHINUM SPP), Journal of Horticultural Science, 71(1), 1996, pp. 11-15
Two wild taxa (Antirrhinum majus ssp. barrelieri and A. microphyllum)
and a commercial cultivar (Floral Carpet) of snapdragon were successfu
lly micropropagated. Seedling nodes were multiplied on MS medium suppl
emented with 5 mu M BAP (or 4.44 mu M for the cultivar). Rooting took
place in MS medium without growth regulators. In general terms, the ad
dition of auxins to the medium did not improve the rooting of shoots.
High survival percentages (over 80%) were obtained when plantlets were
transferred to soil.
