Different versions of the Stroop test are used; however, for most vers
ions of the Stroop test, there are no estimations of reliability. In t
he present study, stimuli were presented singly on a computer screen.
55 Swiss German subjects were tested. Test-retest reliabilities of 'XX
XX' strings and conflicting color words were evaluated. Response laten
cies and Stroop interference were quite reliable. Single-stimulus pres
entation made it possible also to estimate internal consistency, which
was high for classical Stroop interference in this format.
