Abstract
When 3-phenyl-l-menthopyrazole was used as a chiral auxiliary, the dia stereomeric preparation of alpha- and beta-phenylthio-substituted N-ac ylpyrazoles (4 and 9) was accomplished in high yield by the alpha-sulf enylation using diphenyl disulfide and the conjugate addition of thiop henol, respectively.
