Abstract
Insertion of screws into hollow bosses is a common method of joining p arts made of thermoset glass-filled polyesters. Here, the author inves tigates. the strength and crack resistance of various boss designs and screws, and the relationship of the boss to the nominal wall. The res ults are intended as a guide to choosing proper screw and boss designs during design of parts.
