ONLINE TECHNOLOGY INFORMATION RESOURCES FOR ELECTRONICS ON INTERNET

The Internet is quickly becoming one of the valuable tools and the sou rce of the needed information. The 'network of networks' is growing at such a rapid pace that it is even becoming-difficult for the professi onals to identify the useful subject-specific data-bases on Internet a nd access these for uses. With the endeavour to provide technology inf ormation support to electronics industry, we have explored Internet us ing ERNET, to prepare a compilation of selected 59 information resourc es on electronics, computers (including software), telecommunication, science and technology; industries, relevant to electronics industry, in the form of databases, on Internet. The purpose is to help Internet users locate these collections by providing an address and/or directi ons indicating where these resources are found. Also included, are bri ef descriptions of the content of the collections to assist the user i n determining which collections will be most relevent to their interes ts. It is hoped that this directory will raise an awareness, appreciat ion and widespread use of the Freely available data in these repositor ies, maintained by reputed organizations/institutions.
