ZONATION OF BIOLOGICAL DEGRADATION AND SALINIZATION CLIMATIC INDEXES IN A MEDITERRANEAN COASTAL ENVIRONMENT VALENCIA (SPAIN)

The climatic indices of soil biological degradation and salinization h ave been obtained from monthly and annual values of thermopluviometry and evapotranspiration (ETP) from 45 climatological stations in the pr ovince of Valencia (Spain). These indices were calculated from the app lication of the F.A.O. formulae (F.A.O., P.N.U.M.A., U.N.E.S.C.O., 198 0) which were modified depending on the particular conditions of the a rea. The monthly and annual variations of these indices were extrapola ted and graphs for the most representative climatological stations of the province were constructed. Using the annual values of each index, isolines maps were made. These maps show provincial distributions at t he same time as differentiating between areas with different values of the indices.
