Abstract
Worldviews of White American women clients, White American women couns elors, and Chinese international women students were surveyed. Multiva riate planned comparisons showed significant differences between (a) W hite American clients and White American counselors and (b) Chinese in ternational students and White American counselors. Income was a signi ficant predictor of worldviews for White American clients. Age and mar ital status contributed strongly to the worldviews of White American c ounselors. Among the Chinese students, the Taiwanese and the Mainland Chinese held significantly different worldviews. Worldviews of women a re discussed from feminist as well as cross-cultural perspectives. Fut ure directions for practice, research, and theory are suggested regard ing the multicultural counseling process with clients of different wor ldview orientations.
