Abstract
A new symbiotic association between a deep-water homolid crab, Hypsoph rys inflata Guinot & Richer de Forges, 1981 (Brachyura, Podotremata, H omolidae) and a sea anemone of the genus Isanthus (Anthozoa, Actiniari a, Isanthidae) is described from French Polynesia. The crab carries th e anemone on its modified last pairs of legs. It is suggested that thi s represents a mutualistic association.
