Abstract
An assessment is made of the dominant features contributing to the tri ton potential energy, with the objective of understanding qualitativel y their origins and sensitivities. Relativistic effects, short-range r epulsion, and OPEP dominance are discussed. A determination of the imp ortance of various regions of nucleon-nucleon separation is made numer ically.
