L. Camara et al., HISTOPATHOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF THE BOVINE LIVERS AFTER INFECTION BY DICROCOELIUM-DENDRITICUM, Veterinary research, 27(1), 1996, pp. 87-92
The object of this study was to determine the evolution of the lesions
provoked by dicrocoeliasis in hepatic tissue, as a function of the qu
antity of parasites. Of the 274 bovine livers taken from the slaughter
house and autopsied for Dicrocoelium dendriticum infection, 191 demons
trated hepatic lesions that revealed a proliferation of bile ducts, mo
difications of the bile ducts and hepatic fibrosis lesions. The modifi
cations of the surfaces of the bile ducts and the hepatic fibrosis les
ions increased with the level of infestation from 0 to 300 D dendritic
um. Above these values, from 301 to 600 flukes, a decrease was observe
