Vv. Voitylov et al., POLARIZATION OF DIAMOND PARTICLES IN WATER-ALCOHOL SUSPENSIONS, Colloid journal of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 57(1), 1995, pp. 16-19
Values of permanent and induced dipole moments of diamond particles in
various water-alcohol media were determined by electro-optical method
s and analyzed. Surface conductivity of particles was also determined.
The changes in surface conductivity correlate with the changes in the
specific permanent dipole moment at various concentrations of water i
n alcohol. It was shown that the structure of the adsorbed layer of po
lar molecules of the medium substantially affects the surface conducta
nce of particles.
