NUCLEOTIDE-SEQUENCE OF THE PSAD GENE FROM THE THERMOPHILIC CYANOBACTERIUM SYNECHOCOCCUS-VULCANUS

The nucleotide sequence was determined for the psaD gene of a thermoph ilic cyanobacterium, Synechococcus vulcanus, which encoded the PsaD su bunit (Subunit II) of the Photosystem I reaction center complex. Excep t for some differences in the peripherals, the nucleotide sequence of the gene encoding PsaD was identical to that of another thermophilic c yanobacterium Synechococcus elongatus reported previously. Relationshi p between these primary structures and thermostability was also discus sed.
