THE INTEGRATION OF SLOVAKIA INTO THE EURO PEAN AND THE WORLD-ECONOMY

In this study we are concentrating above all on the analysis of opport unities of effective joining of Slovak economy into the international division of labour. After outlining the present civilized tendencies i n the direction of internationalization of world economy, and individu al development of integrative processes in the European Union, we are shifting to the critical analysis of Associate Agreement concerning jo ining of the Slovak Republic to the countries of CEFTA and SNS. We are devoting;attention also to the geopolitical factor of Slovakia which represents an important microeconomic aspect acting in the development of the Slovak economy. In this conjunction we are also demonstrating the basic characteristic strategy of small European economically-advan ced countries. In the next part we are analyzing foreign business rela tions and direct foreign investments for the period of 1989-1994, and are presenting a sketch of the notion of expansionary policy, industri al and export policy of the Slovak Republic, which is derived from the optimum strategy resembling the economy of the Slovak Republic at the level of small European economically-developed countries. In the last part we are interpreting the problems about the perspective entry of Slovakia and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe into the Euro pean Union. In 1995 is to be published the White Book of European Unio n which will precisely specify the conditions of entry for the countri es of Central and Eastern Europe into the European Union.
