Oviduct fluid was collected in cow, ewe, sow, rabbit and mouse. Three
methods were used: In rabbit and sow both ends of Fallopian tubes were
tied and fluid was collected three days later by aspiratory puncture
of the dilated oviduct. For cow and ewe, continuous volumetric collect
ion after catheterization was used. For mice; aspiration of fluid afte
r oviduct dissection was used. Fluid of preovulatory follicules was co
llected in animals either at slaughter house (sows and cows) or in viv
o by surgical (goats and rabbits) or non-surgical (cows) puncture. Ami
noacids were detected by ion-exchange chromatography. Serums of the sa
me animals were used as control.
